Douglas Fisher

Neatorama introduces Douglas Fisher, who has taken photos for a variety of corporate clients from NEC and VW to The Arse just to mention a few. His work incorporates a lot of digital manipulation after the original photos are taken and you can see how he does this step by step, recreating an old photo of the 1913 Arsenal side with a more current crop of players. The way his photos look, you feel like they were almost photo-rendered, ultra slick and hyper realistic. The stark lighting always highlights plenty of gritty details to each photo and if there is a style that's perfect for magazines and ads, this is it.

Above is a shot of a Citroen for Top Gear Magazine.

Todd Deutsch

You never thought gamers would become art huh? Well face it, gamers have become a big subculture, what with people making long queues for new console launches and 5/6 million WoW subcribers. Todd Deutsch takes a look at some gamers and their gear. And they're actually not that nerdy here either. Via Influx.

Japanese Fetish Clubs

That pic of two Japanese "air stewardesses" is part of a set of photos taken by Joan Sinclair for Radar Online. Check out their article here about Japan's Fetish Clubs. Some of the pics are NSFW by the way. Its a lovely look inside one of the brightly lit but dark facades of Japan. Via boingboing.

Pantone Matching on Flickr

Everybody's favourite starfish has become the subject of blogs across the world. The reason? The specific hue of his pink flesh. Apparently, its PANTONE 1775 U. Check out Patrick and more here.

Sam Bassett

Gotta love Sam Bassett's photos. They just seem so balanced, so perfectly framed, so surreal and they make you laugh. Lots of details and deep, intense colors. Check out the glasses in the jacket pocket.

Seen on Neatorama.

High Speed

MakeZine shows you how to take your own high speed photos of things breaking, balloons popping etc. Examples on this flickr pool.

I particularly like this shot of a Heine bottle smashed to bits by a slingshot by Mika Anderson.

More high speed shots on flickr and some selected shots on MakeZine. Check out the matrix guy.
